Volunteering in our Community Kitchen is the perfect option for groups of 6, with potential space for up to 12 people.

Join us in our Community Kitchen and help feed Western Australians doing it tough. You’ll work alongside our qualified chef Melissa to prepare, cook and pack healthy fresh and frozen meals that go out through our Perth and Regional branches and Mobile Foodbanks.
With a full team of volunteers, we can produce over 3,000 meals a week, giving rescued food a valuable third life and reducing waste. Most ingredients come from our Foodbank WA warehouse, and we purchase essentials when needed to keep meals varied and nutritious.
What to expect
You’ll assist in the kitchen as needed; from prepping ingredients and helping with cooking, to packaging prepared meals ready to be sold in our Perth and Regional branches and Mobile Foodbanks, It’s a hands-on, team-based experience that’s both rewarding and fun. We provide all equipment, guidance, and a dedicated volunteer space with tea and coffee facilities.
Session availability
• Tuesday to Friday
• Groups of 6-12 people (depending on kitchen availability)
• Session length - 6 hours (8.30am to 2.30pm)
Financial contribution
• 6 people: $750.00 + GST
• 7 - 12 people: $950.00 + GST
