Are you ready to embark on a unique team-building experience that combines networking, team building, culinary creativity, and community impact? Our Meals for Purpose Challenge is an extraordinary opportunity for corporate groups to step into the world of a Foodbank WA customer and understand the impact of our services. This Challenge offers an immersive half-day experience. From learning about food stress and relief to hands-on culinary adventures, this promises to be an unforgettable journey that combines learning, planning, shopping, teamwork, cooking and giving back.

Understand the impact of food waste and learn about the challenges faced by our customers. The Mystery Box Challenge Receive a comprehensive briefing on how to navigate the Foodbank Perth shop. Discover the nuances of budgeting and selecting items to create nutritious meals. Shopping experience Put your newly acquired knowledge into action as you embark on shopping as a customer at Foodbank. Choose ingredients that align with a budget while keeping the nutritional needs of your meals in mind and the situation you are faced with. Lunch and Learn Indulge, reflect and share your learnings and culinary creations with your colleagues, our chef and the Foodbank team. What was your highlight? Or what did you personally find most challenging? Experience sharing your chef-inspired creations with your team over a well-deserved luncheon.

The Takeover Day Corporate Challenge makes a real difference in our community. Volunteers will takeover each aspect of Foodbank WA, joining the donation journey from the Warehouse where the stock comes in, the Community Kitchen where our donated food is given third life as nutritious and healthy meals, to the Shop Floor where team members will see the impact that Foodbank WA directly has.

What to expect on the day: Community Kitchen team: This team will work alongside our qualified chef Melissa to prepare, cook and pack healthy fresh and frozen meals that go out through our Perth and Regional branches and Mobile Foodbanks. Warehouse team: Working in the warehouse, your team could be preparing pantry or other product packs, sorting fresh fruit and vegetables or packing hampers for our agency partners. Shop Floor team: Step in to the heart of our operation for a rewarding, people-focused experience that connects you directly with the impact of your support. Helping with the Point of Sale Service, your team members will ensure our customers can access essential groceries with dignity and choice. Shopping Experience: Finish off your day by experiencing firsthand what it is like for our customers with these real-life shopping scenarios.
The teams can reflect and share their learnings from their areas as a group while they enjoy provided lunch and morning tea, along with a presentation about the impact that we make in the community. “The feedback from our staff was unanimously, “this was the best team building, event I’ve ever been involved”. I saw leadership, teamwork, contribution, and competition from everyone involved. Ultimately, we achieved a great bonding experience, however most importantly we could contribute to immediate outcomes and build awareness to a worthy cause. Everyone left enlightened by the size and the scope of Foodbank, was an amazing day I’m proud we could participate.”
