Park for a Purpose - Event Volunteering

Support Foodbank WA’s latest fundraising event - join us behind the scenes to prepare, pack and set up Park for a Purpose.

Park for a Purpose is Foodbank WA’s newest fundraising event, which will be raising vital funds for our next Mobile Foodbank. For many people, a car, a caravan or a tent is the final safety net before homelessness. This event exists to help people before they reach that point.

In the lead up to the event, we are looking for some helping hands to assist with preparing materials, food and logistics. These sessions will support the smooth delivery of the event and help ensure a great experience for participants on the day.

Event - Fruit Picking

Foodbank WA is calling on our amazing corporate volunteers and partners to join us for a hands-on volunteering opportunity at Gibb’s Farm in Lower Chittering. From 3 to 7 August, we need teams of up to 10 each day to help us pick mandarins

Fruit picking with Foodbank WA is a practical, boots-on-the-ground way to support fresh food rescue.

We partner with local growers and producers who are willing to donate surplus fruit. With volunteer support, we can harvest produce that might otherwise go to waste and redirect it to charities, schools and community programs across Western Australia.

From 3 to 7 August, we need teams of up to 10 each day to help us pick mandarins that will go directly to our Perth and Regional branches, Mobile Foodbank and School Breakfast Program.

Location: Gibb’s Farm – 1364 Chittering Road, Lower Chittering
